Why swelter away in a boring gym?

Recess believes there are much more fun ways to get and stay healthy. We offer a two-month, swimsuit-body kickstart that makes you healthy from the inside out.

You'll meet 3 times a week for: a workout with a certified personal trainer; nutrition classes with a registered dietitian; "healthy mystery meat" - a weekly fitness grab bag to keep you guessing and excited about staying fit. Be it yoga, tai chi, core and body sculpting, resistance training, you name it, whatever it is it will get you moving and be more fun than lifting weights while some gymbot trainer talks on his cell phone.

Reduce stress, increase energy, and meet cool people!

But, is bootcamp right for you?

  • Have you been trying to lose the same 10 pounds for years and feel like being part of a group would help you stay motivated and accountable?
  • Are you looking for some great ideas on new exercises that you can do outside of a stuffy gym?
  • Have you finally realized that diets don't work and are ready to make eating healthy an easy fit for the rest of your life?
  • Do you struggle to find a workout routine that keeps your attention long enough to show any results?
  • Do you wish you had the support of people who were making more healthy choices in their lives?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you'll love this camp!

The camp is open to men and women of all fitness levels. Ages of past participants have ranged from 21-54. We create an extremely fun, motivating, and varied environment for all participants.

Does it work? Ask past campers.

  • 82% of campers said that the attendance policy, grab bags, and prizes kept them motivated to stick with the Bootcamp program
  • 82% of campers said that they found links provided in the campers-only Web portal to be "extremely useful."
  • 60% of campers said that camp was a "huge influence" in changing their behavior such that they now eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, get at least 30-60 minutes of aerobic activity per day and perform strengthening exercises at leat 3 times per week.
  • More than 70% of campers said that camp made a difference in changing their behavior such that they now cook healthier meals, manage their stress better and stretch at least three times per week.
  • 100% of campers would recommend the program to their friends and colleagues.

Hear what they say in their own words:

"Finally seeing results has rejuvenated my motivation. I feel better now than I have for the last year. The camp taught me to start with the little things in my life I can change. I have been looking for fun ways to stay healthy after the camp. The camp has made me excited for a fit lifestyle and that is something I know will continue far after we are done."

"The camp has helped my energy level, my nutrition education, my commitment, my motivation and the fun factor of my workouts! I know this camp was successful because I look in the mirror and smile. I feel good with my body and my changes. I am comfortable again in my jeans too!"

"The last two months have been a solid, positive beginning to a lifelong plan for fitness and health. I have not reached the end of this plan, I will be following it for the rest of my life. It was great to lose ten pounds and gain noticeable muscles in my arms, but I'm more excited to find out what I'll look like and how I'll be feeling in a year, or 5 years, or 20 years."

Other Benefits of the Camp:

Shred some waves.

Once camp is over we hope you'll be so excited about fun ways to stay fit that we teamed up with Oregon Surf Adventures to bring you a great deal on a workout that hardly feels like work. That's right: surfing! Bootcampers can now opt to celebrate their success by signing up for an all day surf camp through Recess at a 25% discount. Have you ever seen a surfer's body? Exactly.

This time someone is holding you accountable.

We’ll be tracking your attendance. Those who make it all the way through with at least 85% attendance will be eligible to win cool prizes from our sponsors. All participants will receive grab bags with goodies like water bottles, socks and coupons.
